Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho on October 21 2016, was released through Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 with her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound along with her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out on July 21, 2015. Later that year her music began to circulate all over the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some potential references to Rihanna. Her announcement to be signed by Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The singer also performed on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. Then, in November, she released the singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two singles more were released by her on 11/13 Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby is a track she sang with Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on the 16th of November. The track was released as a standalone single in February of 2019 to coincide with her debut album. The track was accompanied by a music video that was released on February 20, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views via YouTube in the first week. In December 2018 she was a supporting act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
